A letter from our program director

When I was a kid in New York City, the only reason I got to pick up a racket was because of a free summer tennis program. I still remember that feeling of being handed a racket I couldn't afford, and realizing that tennis wasn't just for country clubs and big-name players on TV. That free program opened the door to a sport—and a future—I'd never imagined.

As I got older, though, I saw fewer and fewer of these opportunities for kids and adults who wanted to learn. It's sad, because tennis is a game-changer: it taught me discipline, opened doors in high school and college, and helped me develop perseverance in ways that shaped my entire life—including a decade-long, successful career in marketing.

But my passion always pulled me back to the courts. That's why I created the Poinciana Tennis Academy: to offer a place where anyone—no matter their background—can find affordable lessons, caring coaches, and a warm community. Because when you strip away the barriers, tennis becomes so much more than a sport. It's a source of confidence for kids who are just discovering their potential. It's a healthy outlet for adults who might have felt the door was closed to them years ago. And for seniors, it's a social, low-impact way to stay active and connected.

At Poinciana Tennis Academy, we make it easy to book classes, keep costs down, and welcome every player. Our team is committed to offering the guidance, encouragement, and sense of fun that turned me from a curious kid with a borrowed racket into a high school and college player, volunteer coach—and ultimately, a proud founder of an awesome tennis academy.

Tennis taught me that success often starts with someone simply opening a door. Now, I'm passing that forward, and I can't wait to see where YOUR tennis journey leads.
